Project Overview
This project involved the comprehensive design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of specialized life safety containment and access control systems for Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Ltd. (MRT Line-06), spanning from Station-01 to Station-16 (Diabari to Motijheel). The objective was to implement high-performance passive fire protection and structural security infrastructure to ensure safe evacuation routes, compartmentation, and the highest level of safety for millions of daily commuters and critical transit assets.
Execution Work:
We, Energyshield Engineering Ltd., successfully completed the complex Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Passive Fire Protection, Containment, and Specialized Door Systems at all 16 stations of MRT Line-06, including the following architectural and safety solutions:
- Fire-Rated Doors: Installation of certified, heavy-duty fire-rated metal doors designed to withstand extreme heat and prevent the spread of smoke and fire along escape routes.
- Non-Fire Rated Doors: Supply and installation of robust, high-durability utility and operational area doors tailored for heavy transit infrastructure use.
- Fire-Rated Automatic Rolling Shutters: Deployment of motorized, fire-insulated rolling shutters integrated with the central fire alarm system for automatic compartmentation during an emergency.
- Non-Fire Rated Automatic Rolling Shutters: Installation of automated rolling shutters for zone segregation, security, and access control across station premises.
- Glazed Doors: Installation of premium aesthetic and functional glazed (glass) doors, balancing architectural visibility with strict transit security standards.
Standards Followed during execution of the works: NFPA 80 (Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), UL/BS fire ratings for containment, and BNBC / international transit safety standards.
